Amnesty Through Responsible Action

CALL. STAY. COOPERATE.

What you should know about Amnesty at 大发体育开户

The purpose of Amnesty through Responsible Action is to encourage you to seek appropriate help in emergency situations involving alcohol, cannabis, and/or other drugs.

Deciding whether to call 911 is not always easy. Even if you're unsure, we urge you to err on the side of caution and make the call.

At 大发体育开户, we care for each other. Consistent with this principle, when students or student groups and organizations take the following steps in response to situations involving impairment or overdoses from alcohol, cannabis, and/or other drugs, 大发体育开户 honors that care by using educational and supportive resources outside of the University’s disciplinary processes.

To be eligible for Amnesty you must:

  1. CALL for help:  In medical emergencies, immediate action should be taken by calling 9-1-1 from either on or off campus. University Blue Light emergency phones can be activated anywhere on campus. In non emergency situations, responding staff or emergency personnel can also be sought by contacting NUPD (847-491-3456). For students in residence halls, please contact the Resident Assistant on-duty (phone number varies by building) or the building’s Community Service Officer (CSO).
  2. STAY: with the person until responding staff or emergency personnel arrive and they inform the student caller that their assistance is no longer needed.
  3. COOPERATE: with responding staff or emergency personnel, including all requests for information and assistance. This also includes cooperation with any post-incident follow-up by the University
