Happy 1st Birthday, Jasmine! | Disneyland

It's amazing the people we meet on this journey called Life, and how every single thing we go through and experience happens for a reason and leads to something else. I was born with congenital heart disease, which is a complex heart condition that has no cure. I won't lie, it's terrible, but through my CHD I've met the most amazing, loving people. Many of those people are heart patients like me, and others are just amazing human beings who care about kids who have the same condition I do.

One of those people is Aladdin. Through my CHD I learned about Camp del Corazon, which is a camp for kids with CHD, and it was at Camp del Corazon that I met Aladdin. If memory serves, that year Aladdin was in charge of the archery activity, and we instantly became friends. Over the years we got to know each other more and he got to meet my mom (when she would drop me off and pick me up at the docks) and later he met my younger sister at a Camp del Corazon event that we were all volunteering at. Aladdin is so loved at Camp, and as a matter of fact, he wasn't able to attend this summer, and when my girls and I got to archery and they saw that someone else was in charge they immediately started asking where Aladdin was and why he wasn't at camp this year, and how they missed him so much.

And why didn't Aladdin attend Camp this year? Well, I would imagine it's because he's so busy with his precious baby girl! I had seen pictures of Jasmine on Facebook since she was born and I couldn't get over how adorable she is, so I was over-the-moon excited when Aladdin contacted me to capture pictures of his precious baby girl. Aladdin then went on to say that he wanted to do the session at Disneyland, and since I don't have a pass (I know, I know, what kind of Southern Californian doesn't have a pass to Disneyland, right?!) he said not to worry about it - and he said to bring my younger sister with me. The plan was to shoot for a few hours all morning, and then he and Jasmine would go home for lunch and I could spend the rest of the day at Disneyland, but he knew I wouldn't stay by myself so he made sure my sister came so that both of us could stay and enjoy the day together. Like I said, it's amazing the people you meet in life, and I'm so grateful to know Aladdin. He is sweet and wonderful and amazing.

And speaking of sweet and wonderful and amazing... those words perfectly describe Jasmine! She is such a beautiful baby girl, so full of joy and laughter! She looooves people, and as we walked around the park she smiled at everyone she saw and waved hi. She loved walking around the park and getting on some of the rides, and she had the cutest outfits for her session. Of course, if you didn't catch on earlier, she is named after the Disney character Jasmine from Aladdin since her daddy's Camp name is Aladdin, and so he made sure to bring her Jasmine outfit along and she looked so darn adorable.

Aladdin - what can we say? Grumpy and I are SO thankful for you and your family. Thank you so much for trusting me to capture Jasmine's pictures, and thank you so much for an amazing day. It's a day we will cherish forever. Jasmine is so amazing, and I look forward to meeting Jen in the near future too!

And Happy 1st Birthday Jasmine! :)

Hugs,
Harbor
