Sarah and Adeel's engagement party was no exception, as family and friends flooded to their home to celebrate these two beautiful people. I loved the cultures (Adeel is Pakistani and Sarah is Arab) and the simple decorations and details that made up this party were perfection on that warm, sunny Sunday afternoon. While the party decorations were more American, both of their outfits were traditional Pakistani outfits. Adeel's outfit was amazing from top to bottom -- and don't get me started on his shoes! And Sarah... wow! She was drop-dead gorgeous in her dress. The details on it were stunning. Sarah's dress, which was a gift from Adeel's mom, was custom-made from a designer in Pakistan to wear for this occasion. The entire dress was handmade, which just speaks volumes to that level of intricate detail. When Adeel first contacted me to shoot this event I asked about the details a little and he mentioned that he and Sarah wanted to incorporate both their traditional cultures as well as the American culture. I would say that they did an excellent job and achieved just that.
And speaking of Adeel's mom - their families made my second shooter and me feel like family. Seriously! Throughout the entire party Sarah and Adeel checked in with us to make sure that we had enough to eat and drink. We then finished shooting right before the main dinner course started, so we went to say bye. Well Sarah and Adeel insisted that we stay and join them for dinner, and then Adeel's mom came to us to make sure we were staying for dinner and we were taken care of. Such beautiful people, both inside and out. It truly is a privilege to get to meet people for the first time and instantly feel like friends that you've known for years. And the food was delicious! This was the first time we had Pakistani food and we loved it :) Thank you all for making us feel like family.
Sarah + Adeel - congratulations on your engagement! I'm so excited for the two of you as you begin this journey together. I can't wait to see what the future holds for you :)
