Jamie & Chris' Maternity Session | Powder Canyon

Freedom... Have you ever thought about that? The immense freedom that we have in this country. And the oh-so very high price that is paid for that freedom.

Jamie and Chris know what that's like. You see, Jamie is 24 weeks pregnant and tomorrow Chris leaves to Afghanistan for several months, and he won't be here for the birth of their precious baby girl. Malakye won't meet her daddy until she's several months old. Such a high price for this beautiful family to pay, all for our freedom.

And even in the midst of the stress they must have been experiencing thinking about Chris leaving and what the next several months will look like, they have such joy. They are such sweet, loving, beautiful people (seriously, Jamie could totally be a maternity model!), and I had such an amazing time with them! We laughed and joked the entire time as we braved the 95 degree weather and hills with rattlesnakes (!). My life was impacted as I thought of what they are facing and their reaction to it. Amazing!

If you would, join me in keeping Chris is your prayers, for his safety and so he can come back home as soon as possible, as well as for Jamie and both of their families, for peace and patience and courage as they wait for this incredibly brave man to return home.

Jamie and Chris - it was so wonderful to meet you both. You are hands-down incredible people, and I admire your courage and joy so much. Thank you for your sacrifice for this nation... thank you.

Hugs,
Brenda
