Shannie + Omar :: Styled Wedding

In early 2012 Shannie and Omar contacted me about documenting their wedding that summer with my lens. Unfortunately their wedding date landed during my trip to Europe, so I had to turn down their wedding. I hated having to do that, but it was so nice to meet them both later that summer when I shot their friends' wedding, where Shannie and Omar were a bridesmaid and groomsmen, and then I had the privilege of capturing their Holiday portraits later that year. It was so wonderful to really get to meet them and get to know them and hang out with them for a couple of hours. Their love for Jesus, each other, and their doggies is undeniable, and something for fresh and wonderful to see.

Well earlier this year Shannie and I got in contact about doing a shoot to celebrate their second wedding anniversary. We elaborately planned that session, and it was pure perfection! And as we planned their anniversary shoot I had this crazy idea... would they be willing to be a part of a styled wedding session? Would that be weird, since they'd been married for almost two years now? I mentioned it to Shannie, and told her she could totally say NO and not hurt my feelings. Her response? "We'd love to!"

So we got to planning two sessions - the anniversary shoot and the styled wedding! It all came together to perfectly and so beautifully, I couldn't believe it! I contacted some of the best vendors in the wedding industry about being a part of this styled wedding and within hours I had their enthusiastic responses. We planned and planned and planned and this is what we came up with :)

Thank you SO much to everyone involved in this styled wedding. I could not have done it without you all! From the florist who worked patiently with me, to the baker who got every single detail perfect, to the hair stylist who did such a beautiful job, to the sweet, sweet lady who drove so far to bring out the furniture (and arrived before I even did!), to my mom and little sister who drove around with me all day that day to pick up the flowers and make sure everything was safe in my car, to my cousin who helped me get last minute things together at home, and then worked tirelessly at the session to make sure everything was absolutely perfect, to Omar's cousin who joined us for both sessions to take care of Mia and Nano (the doggies) while they weren't in the shots.... THANK YOU!

And to Shannie and Omar - thank you so much for going along with my crazy ideas! You two are insanely awesome! I could not have worked with a more wonderful, beautiful, patient, loving couple. I still can't believe that we pulled off these two sessions in such a short amount of time, and I know I couldn't have done it without your patience and hard work. Thank you!

Enjoy!
