I have to preface this post by saying that it was such an honor to photograph this family.
This is my uncle, aunt, three cousins and their doggies. My uncle is my dad's younger brother, and they were very, very close so my sisters and I grew up very close to their family. SO close, as a matter of fact, that they lived in our house for a few months years ago. We're ALWAYS together. We see each other 2-3 times a week, we camp together every single summer, we hike together often, Universal Studio trips, San Diego trips, and we're just always together. Just now as I am writing this post we made plans to get together this coming Friday for family night and pizza. Seriously :-)
To say that I love this family would be an understatement. My uncle and his family has always been around for our family, but when my dad suddenly and unexpectedly was called Home 8 years ago, my uncle stepped up his game. My uncle and his family have supported us SO much since my dad died. They've always been around for us. My dad can and will never be replaced, but my uncle is ALWAYS there as a father-figure for my sisters and me. He was there when I graduated from UCLA last year, when my sisters graduated from middle school and high school, he picked us up from the airport when we traveled abroad, he's there for birthdays and he's just always around. I love him SO much, and in the future when I get married, I look forward to having him walk me down the aisle. I wasn't kidding when I said it was an honor to photograph this family :-)
Their three girls and my sisters and I all get along so well so that certain helps since we're always together :-) Jacky is 17 years old and a senior in high school so we're waiting to see where she's going to go to school. Evelyn is 14 years old and Natalie is 13 years old and they're both in middle school and they're such fun, spunky, sweet girlies :-) And their dogs, Ashley (the German Shepherd) and Charlie (the Poogle) are SO much fun! And a special thanks to Ashley (the German Shepherd) for providing us with our GS Roxy! :-)
Thank you Tio Gustavo, Tia Maricela and girls for always being there. You have no idea how much it means to us, and how much we love all of you. - Brenda
